The Town of Buckeye’s 14th annual Hometown Holiday Boutique promises fun for the entire family, from photos with Santa to more than 100 arts & crafts vendors to pet tricks to the traditional soup in a bread bowl.
The annual event, sponsored by the town’s Community Services Department, will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, in Town Park, Ninth Street and Monroe Avenue.
The town is seeking non-food vendors to show and sell their wares during the one-day show. Applications for vendor spaces, at $40 per space, are available by contacting Lindsay Yanko, 623-349-6602 or lyanko@buckeyeaz.gov. Deadline for vendor applications is Nov. 16.
The arts & craft show will include wood art, candles, a book sale, jewelry and antiques and other crafts. There will be holiday music and live entertainment, a Santa’s workshop for the children and photos with Santa.
There’s a new entertainment offering this year, a “Deck the Hounds” competition. Dog owners can bring their pets either dressed in costumes or ready to perform tricks. Dogs must be registered on site by noon, when the free competition will begin.
There will be two categories judged, one for costumes and the other for tricks.
Santa will ride in escorted by the Buckeye Police Department at 11 a.m. He will be available for photos by Creative Images by Michael, at $3 each, for the remainder of the day.
Also on Saturday, Nov. 21, Buckeye will celebrate CountryFest, starting at 10 a.m. with the CountryFest parade. There will be a car show from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Bayless Park, as well as a carnival there throughout the weekend.
Saturday night activities will conclude wit the Fall Demolition Derby. Helzapoppin’ rodeo grounds gates open at 4:30 p.m., with mower races starting at 5:30 p.m. and the derby competition at 7 p.m.
