Home Based Businesses
The Town of Buckeye requires that people operating a business out of their home obtain a business license. There are many variations of a home based business, and the requirements that must be met can vary. If you are planning on running a business out of your home, be sure you check with your Home Owners Association to confirm that they allow home based businesses.
If the business involves selling goods, of any kind, the application must be submitted with a copy of your Transaction Privilege Tax license. This is the license you will use to remit sales tax, and can be obtained through the Arizona Department of Revenue. You can contact them at 602-255-2060 or on their website,
www.aztaxes.gov. The same applies to internet based-home based businesses. You are required to meet the same requirements as listed above.
Be sure to check with our Planning and Zoning Department to see if there are any stipulations against operating a business out of your home. They can be reached at 623-349-6000. Certain subdivisions have created stipulations, and as a home/business owner, it will be your responsibility to be sure you are compliant with all regulations.
This is an annual license with a fee of $40.00 and a one time application fee of $25.00.
