Mobile Food & Mobile Vending
Mobile Vending and Mobile Food Vending are regulated by the Town of Buckeye, and persons engaging in these types of activites are required to have a business license.
Mobile Vending as defined by the Town code means a person who peddles, vends, sells, serves, displays, offers to sell or gives away goods, wares, or merchandise from a mobile vending unit which is parked or located on a parcel of public or private property.
Mobile Food Vending means any person who sells, serves, offers for sale, or gives away only food from a mobile vending unit parked or located on a private or public parcel of property. Mobile Food includes catering trucks and ice cream trucks. Those types of licenses require the applicant to provide a valid vehicle insurance card and valid Arizona driver's license.
Applicants who wish to apply for this license must provide several documents to be be considered for approval. Applications will be reviewed by the Finance and Building Safety Departments to make sure compliance is met. Applicants must submit a plot plan showing compliance with all Zoning Ordinance Requirements, detailing where they intend to set up on the property. Applicants for this type of license shall be fingerprinted by the Business License Division for the purpose of obtaining a state and national criminal background check. Applicants must call ahead of time to set up an appointment for fingerprinting. Applicants will be assessed the applicable fees for this process. Fingerprinting fee is $50.00 to be broken down as such: $22.00 Money Order Only (this goes directly to AZDPS), and $28.00 can be cash/credit card/check, etc. Please call for any questions.
NO licenses will be issued until results of the fingerprinting and background checks are concluded. This process may take between 10-14 business days depending on Department of Public Safety staff and workload. Applicants will be notified when results are in and license is ready to be issued. NO exceptions will be made.
Once approved, licensees will be issued a photo ID card to be carried on their person while they are conducting the licensed activity. Applicants must provide two satisfactory passport photographs to be used for this card.
